Sweet Meat. Oh yes: Sweet Meat.

For the third time in a week I got lost. This time it was en route to the Flying Beaver in Richmond. I called A who gave me the most detailed and exact and moron-proof directions ever. It was awesome.
It was so great to see JupiterGirl again. I hadn't seen her since her wedding in September and she looked fantastic. It's weird because when she and I lived in Vancouver we'd see each other every weekend. And then she went away and got married and we don't see each other often but when I pulled up the bar stool next to her it was like there was barely a blip in our time apart. I dunno. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I have awesome friends. I can't remember the last time I saw A either so it was nice to catch up with her and share stories of unemployment and make plans to see matinees during the day.
Anyways, I thought for some reason that it was karaoke night at the Beaver, but it was "Name That Tune" night. The place was packed and we had to name our team. The six of us were called "Sweet Meat". Yeah no, I'm not even kidding.
It was such a fucking riot of an evening. I had so much fun. I only guessed the songs when it wasn't our turn, though I think I pegged James Brown's "Sex Machine" because, heh, get up and get on down.
The guys at the table next to us were like twelve. And they were picking the songs off like it was going out of style. It was facking incredible. I love young, dorky guys. At one point they even gave us the answer. Plus the guy running the show was also generous with his hints to us which was sweet (and he blew me a kiss at the end of the evening which was endearing, as it always is when it doesn't come from someone creepy like what that guy was that approached us as we were ready to leave).
But it was really JupiterGirl and A that stole the show. You could get extra points by doing stuff and whenever there was an opportunity they were up there shaking their booties and doing whatever it took to get us some bonus points (and ultimately $30 off our bill). Yep, they had no fear. Likely the copious amounts of beer helped. I stayed at the table to watch the purses. I'm good at watching purses.
Oh! Then this utterly skanky woman came in and I haven't seen slutty behaviour like that since... yeah, maybe my very early twenties? It was horrific. She was just out of control. She was just all over the young guys at the table next to us and surely one (or all) of them could've gone home with her but they just paid their bill and left. A said she was the town bicycle: everyone's ridden her. Er, yeah. I know I'm supposed to be non-judgemental and understand that her grotesque acts of flamboyant smuttiness stem from a deep-seeded need to be loved and desired, but when she started (literally) table dancing I just really lost my zen.
All in all a very fun night with a group of really nice and super fun ladies and I would totally jump at the opportunity to do it again.
And, after they played only the first note, I pegged Tom Petty's "Free Fallin" though it wasn't our turn.
I still got high fives though.
Sweet.
Meat.

I'm okay with the new haircut but, for me to be in love with it, it should be about an eighth of an inch longer. I have no idea what that is in millimeters but it's about a tiny bit longer than a tad. You will grow that much in about a week and a half, then I will love it again.

I was listening to Tom Petty today too. "Last Dance With Mary Jane." Maybe we synched up on some weird Petty moment in time. Sweet (meat).

You should've seen this chick. She was the epitome of "ridden hard and put away wet". I was trying soooo hard to be cool and non judgemental and accepting but she kept on ratcheting up her antics which were increasingly vulgar and desperate and then I contemplated popping my eyeballs out with a drinking straw.
But, you know, I didn't.

An eighth of an inch, eh? Yeah, I dunno. It's a bit short in the back so it sticks up a lot. I also think it's a bit dark. Maybe I should go blonde. It will also cover up the ever increasing amount of grey.

Grey is the new black (says he). Anyway (and I know I probably shouldn't say this in case Michael is listening) I think a little grey in a woman's hair an attractive feature. It gives a away a likely sense of maturity (but not too much) so is kinda sexy. Michael's a lucky man, and you can tell him that from me :-)

Spot the typo. Oh the shame ;-)
